Effective May 1, 2026, Delta G Avaris has acquired the GMP production site of Richter Biologics in Hannover, expanding its bacteriophage manufacturing capabilities.

Effective May 1, 2026, Delta G Avaris GmbH has acquired the production site of Richter Biologics GmbH in Hannover. With this acquisition, Delta G Avaris strategically builds production capacity in the field of bacteriophage therapy and strengthens its position in GMP-compliant development and manufacturing of innovative biological therapeutics.

Through the acquisition of the site, Delta G Avaris gains access to an experienced team of experts, an established GMP infrastructure, and modern production and quality control capabilities. The Hannover site thus creates optimal conditions for the manufacturing of GMP-certified bacteriophages to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial pathogens.

By building production capacity, Delta G Avaris aims to make an important contribution to addressing the global crisis of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Bacteriophages are natural viruses that specifically infect and destroy bacteria. They are considered a promising approach to treating bacterial infections, particularly where conventional antibiotics are increasingly losing efficacy.
